Let Petit Gateau is a Melbourne based cake business and the Melbourne Watch Company is – you guessed it – a Melbourne based watch company that admittedly makes some of the loveliest watches to come from this city in quite the while. Where they come together is anyone’s guess, but it’s once you scratch the surface and discover what makes both businesses and the men behind them tick that you get the true picture.
Pierrick Boyer from Le Petit Gateau and Sujain Krishna from the Melbourne Watch Company have one thing in common: their appreciation for quality and individuality; both things of which have culminated in the creation of a new timepiece for the Melbourne Watch Company, the Avalon.
The new style is the latest edition to the Melbourne Watch Company collection and the collaborative timepiece set to be released in March, is a new style for the brand and is based on an aeronautics theme – reflected through both design and name, the ‘Avalon’.
The Avalon will feature a Miyota automatic open-heart movement in a 45mm DLC coated case, along with an exquisite multi-layered dial beneath orange-accented hands and markers.
The exclusively designed watch will be released as a limited edition range with only 40 timepieces available for purchase. A standard edition of the aviation themed watch will also be released by Melbourne Watch Company in a greater quantity and at a lower price point.
Shipping internationally, pre-release prices start from $575AUD, offering punters who purchase prior to launch a significant saving. The Avalon will retail from $799AUD once the pre-release phase concludes.
